Ron’s Story

Those of you who have known me for a long time know that I have always had a heart for missions. I had a heart for missions long before it was a natural part of student or church calendars.
I guess I can trace it back to the days when I was a brand new follower of Christ. At the age of 16, just after I asked Christ to forgive me of my sins and make me brand new, I was introduced by my youth leader (Gary Meyer) to a gentleman named Larry Gardner, who ran an inner city ministry in downtown Cincinnati we called The Baptist Center.

Brother Larry planted the seeds of missions in my heart so much so that I am amazed, now that I look back, in the way it has grown into what it is today in my life and in my ministry. I remember numerous trips to the Baptist Center to take packages and participate in events throughout the years.

My first real mission trip was as a Student Pastor to Cleveland, Ohio to the Polish Baptist Church. In those days I was learning what mission work was all about, at the very same time the students were. It is crazy now to think back on those early days and the experiences we had.
I can now see, some 25 years later, how my days at the churches in Ohio, Texas, and now Georgia, and the experiences from that very first mission trip served as a stepping stone for being on mission today and the passion I have now of being involved in faith families whose hearts beat for missions.

As I transition from the person who has been sending out mission teams and serving missionaries into a missionary I can say I now know a little more about missions. I expect that growth and learning will be what I will be about for a very long time. I invite you to join with me in this adventure, where great things for the Kingdom will be the main objective.

Come prayer walk with us. Come serve on a mission team with us. Pray for us. Become a prayer partner with us. Come help plant a church with us. Just come and join us in anyway God leads you and see what God will do in and through you for eternity.

Walking By Faith, Not By Sight,
Ron DeMoss

Ron- Wow! I enjoyed reading your story. What a powerful testimony you have to share with the world to glorify our Lord. I love your’s and Linda’s passion for walking by faith and not by sight. It’s a true inspiration to Rob and I as we strive to do the same. Thanks for all you do for the Kingdom. It’s awesome! We are praying for you and Linda on a regular basis and keep the prayer letters on our fridge as our reminder of the both of you. We love getting them! You both are a true shining light of Christ. God bless you!
